BUMPIN' 40 WEEKS

how far along are you? technically i'm still 39 weeks, but i'm rounding up cause it's thursday & come sunday i'll "officially" be 40 weeks :)

sleep? my sleep has gotten horrible! i am so uncomfortable, constantly waking up to use the bathroom & can basically only sleep while laying on my left side... so if i ever end up on the right side, i wake up immediately. i keep hoping that he comes soon so that i can sleep, but then i am reminded that i'll have a newborn to take care of so i most likely won't be sleeping better, haha. but at least i'll be more comfortable!

movement? movement has slowed down cause he has less & less room to kick around in since he's growing so much. plus he's all in position to pop out, so it probbaly gives him less wiggle room.

symptoms? i've started having acid reflux which is apparently normal, at least according to my doctor, because there isn't as much room for food in my belly anymore. i didn't have this with cedar at all so it's been really strange.. i also get pretty nauseous now days when i eat too much for the same reasons. not fun. add that to the lack of good sleep & my slightly swollen fingers/ankles/toes & an aching back... am i making anyone reconsider having a baby? haha i promise it's not all that bad, but it gets a little tougher in the last weeks!

cravings? peanut butter & chocolate, so i just eat a lot of reeses, can't complain there.

looking forward to? having the baby!! i'm really hoping i don't have another bumpdate post.

DISNEYLAND

DLAND from kerry mullin on Vimeo.

we got disneyland passes for disneyland & it has definitely been one of my favorite gifts. i feel like we are definitely going to put them to good use, it's only february & we've already gone twice & probably would have been going more if i weren't so pregnant!

we dcidd to go a couple weeks ago before austin had his first day of work, figuring it would be a little while before he was able to come with us again & it was so much fun. cedar is at the perfect age to go to disneyland, he was so excited by everything he saw, it was adorable. especially when it came to the characters, he was pumped on cars land & seeing mater & lightening mcqueen everywhere, & when he saw goofy & mickey walking around he just kept shouting their names, it's so much fun! i didn't get a ton of videos, but wantd to compile the ones that i did get cause he was being so much fun & i really wanted to remember the day :)

p.s. // sorry for the silence on my blog, but i was having some major issues with it! it was really frustrating, but i seem to have figured it all out & am so happy to be able to post again!

MATERNITY PHOTOS

when our friends shayla & nick told me they were planning to come down to california in mid january i was so excited. i love shaylas photography style & had wanted her to take my maternity photos but didn't think it would happen since she lives in utah, but they came down at the perfect time. we had so much fun shooting with the two of them, they made it seem really easy & natural which is key in a photographer & nick did a great job of making cedar laugh for the photos & then watching him while shayla got some shots of just austin & i. they are a great photography duo. make sure to check out more of shaylas photos at www.shaylalilian.com & schedule a time with her, you will not be disappointed!

i was around 36 weeks when these photos were taken & it was the perfect time because almost since this day, i have felt gigantic, which is not how you want to feel when you're having you're photo taken! it feels like i am getting bigger by the hour & i think my belly shows it! so luckily for me i was able to have my maternity photos taken before this problem! this maternity shoot was totally different than the one i took with cedar. with cedar i was earlier in my pregnancy so i didn't have much of a bump to work with, i took them in march & he wasn't born till june, so i had just barley entered my 3rd trimester. this time around i could have technically had the baby & it would be considered full term, so i was quite a bit further & bigger. you can look at my other maternity photos here :)

I LOVE ACAI

these past few weeks i have been living off of acai bowls, i can't get enough of them. we found a local shop that makes them & would go 2-4 times a week, the addiction was real immediately! buuut our addiction didn't fit into our budget, so we decided to start making them at home & now i have one everyday. they are great because everyone in my tiny fam loves them & they're so easy to make! here is my go-to, favorite acai bowl recipe:

1 packet acai (we got frozen acai packs from whole foods)
orange juice
1 banana
a handful of strawberries
honey or agave
coconut flakes
a handful of granola (like all my measurements?)

blend up the acai with 1/2-1 cup orange juice (this is my personal fav, but it's also delicious with coconut milk) & then you can choose to blend different fruits in & place the granola on top or place the fruits on top along with the granola, like the acai bowl pictured above. see? pretty easy. i also like to blend everything up into a smoothie when i give it to cedar & for on-the-go snacks/breakfasts. so good!

have you tried acai bowls before? what are some of your favorite things to put in it? i love trying new recipes!
