every time austin & i drive to or from utah we talk about driving through valley of fire but never do, for one reason or not. last time we were driving home se decided to go for it. it's right outside of vegas & added a couple extra hours to our drive but it was totally worth it. the kids definitely needed a break from the car & we were feeling one too. we hiked around a bit & let the kids run around in all the red sand & look for petroglyphs. they loved it.
the drive was really pretty too. the red rock totally pops out against the blue sky & it's so random! there are no other mountains near it or any other red rock except this random little patch that makes all these red towers. i would totally go back & am planning to.
if you ever have a chance to go, it's worth it!
