SCOTLAND

edinburgh castle^

while we were in scotland we took a full day to explore every nook & cranny of edinburgh & there are quite a few of them. the streets are incredibly twisty & midevil feeling, especially with the architecture throughout the old part of the city, which is where edinburgh castle is. honestly, edinburgh made me feel as though i was on the set for a harry potter movie, it easily could have been where the entire movie was filmed & it is no surprise to me that j.k. rowling wrote it while living there. there is a totally witch-y type vibe happening, you can see it so easily! speaking of j.k. rowling, we did our one geeky activity & went to the cafe that she is rumored to have written the majority of the first harry potter. it's called the elephant cafe & had pictures & figures of elephants everywhere, it's super cute & they had delicious hot chocolate.
our second day in scotland was spent driving through the highlands to glencoe valley, which i definitely would recommend. austin drove us there & he was pretty nervous, but he did an amazing job considering that we were on the opposite side of the road & car! i was impressed & really happy it wasn't me driving haha. glencoe valley has had a ton of different movie scenes filmed there (this part of harry potter & this part of james bond) & rightfully so, it was one of the coolest/prettiest drives i've ever seen. it's totally unlike anywhere i have ever seen & as fate would have it, cedar fell asleep on the drive so i litereally have 2 pictures of the actual valley. haha, but it's all good.
